initial assessment - physical therapy

Initial Assessment

Dr. Jen will take you through a comprehensive assessment, looking at your strength, flexibility, movement patterns, body mechanics, and how they relate to your goals and activities you love to do. This will help uncover any underlying causes to your pain or injury, give a blueprint on how to help create an environment for healing, and help prevent injury in the future. Dr. Jen will perform any needed hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and create your customized exercise program together with specific guidance on what to work on in between sessions. This approach addresses multiple body parts in a holistic way, and helps create a new foundation to move optimally!

Follow-Up

During your follow-up, you will continue with any needed manual therapy or dry-needling, review your exercises and any updates relevant to your symptoms, and take the next steps towards your goals. This will be a curated progression of carrying over your exercise program into your daily life and activities. Staying consistent with your home exercise program helps you get the most out of these follow up sessions!

Frequently Asked Questions

How frequent are follow-up sessions?

Typically, Dr. Jen checks in with her clients every 1-3 weeks. Initially, weekly follow-up sessions are helpful for overcoming more acute symptoms, and as you need more guidance with your exercises. Once you are more independent and in tune with your specific movement patterns, checking in less frequently is appropriate to give you adequate time to work on your homework in between sessions. Frequency and duration are specific to each individual, and Jen is committed to working together on finding a frequency of follow-up sessions that fit well with your issue, goals, schedule, and budget.

Dry needling/maintenance sessions are typically scheduled once every 1-3 months.

How does self-pay work?

Dr. Jen is an out of network provider, which means she does not contract with insurance companies that dictate your plan of care. This allows her to have more flexibility in serving YOU in the way that will best fit your needs and goals. Depending on your insurance plan’s out of network benefits, you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement. Jen will provide you with all of the necessary information to submit to your insurance company.

Payment accepted includes cash, check, credit card, Zelle, Venmo, and HSA/FSA.
