ACL Rehabilitation Westminster CO | Made Strong Physical Therapy
Made Strong Physical Therapy & Wellness · Westminster, CO
ACL rehab built for people who want to actually get back.
Not just cleared to return. Actually ready. Stronger, more confident, and better prepared than before the injury.
Dr. Jen has had three ACL surgeries herself, from soccer and skiing injuries. She knows the difference between PT that checks the boxes and PT that actually prepares you for the demands of your sport and your life. That gap is what Made Strong is built to close.
Whether you’re pre-op, freshly post-op, six months in and frustrated, or dealing with a non-operative ACL tear, the approach here is the same: comprehensive, individualized rehabilitation that doesn’t stop when the session does. Real strength work, hands-on treatment, dry needling when appropriate, and programming you can actually follow between visits.
“During our first meeting, I was unsure if I would ever be able to return to the mountain. After a few months of consistent work, I am now hiking big mountains, mountain biking, and swimming weekly.”
What makes this different
Time
90-minute follow-up sessions
Enough time for hands-on treatment, dry needling, and exercise progression that actually challenges your mechanics, builds fatigue tolerance, and grows your confidence in the knee. Not a 30-minute slot with a shared exercise floor.
Programming
A real training plan between visits
Customized programming in TrainHeroic, built around your schedule, your equipment, and your goals. Updated as you progress. Jen is available between sessions when questions come up and nothing is left unsaid.
Support
Coordinated care when you need it
Jen works with trusted massage therapists and sports counselors, and will communicate with your surgeon throughout. ACL recovery is physical and mental. You shouldn’t have to navigate either one alone.
Options
Non-operative management is a real option
Not every ACL tear requires surgery. Jen has extensive experience with non-operative ACL management and will help you make an informed decision about your path, working with your surgeon either way.
Progressive strength work, hands-on assessment, and individualized programming — every session, full hour, one patient at a time.
Who this is for
Athletes at every level who have torn or sprained their ACL and want to return to skiing, running, climbing, soccer, basketball, trail sports, or whatever else matters to them. People who’ve been told their PT is “standard protocol” and haven’t felt challenged or understood. Clients who are months out from surgery and still don’t feel ready to return to sport. People who want to understand the process, not just follow instructions.
Dr. Jen has worked with weekend warriors, competitive athletes, and professional skiers through this process. The intensity of the rehab matches the intensity of what you’re returning to.
Timing: It’s never too late. Whether you’re a week post-op, six months out, or years removed from your injury and still not feeling right, there is meaningful work to be done. Reach out wherever you are in the process.
Programming is built around your specific presentation, goals, and schedule — not a generic protocol sheet.
What clients say
“Jen helped me with my recovery from ACL surgery with a meniscus repair. She has not only made me physically stronger and ready to return to skiing, climbing, and backpacking, but has also helped immensely with my confidence and mental readiness to return to an active lifestyle. The combination of needling, soft tissue work, and extremely personalized exercises helped with my overall progress. I would recommend Jen to anyone looking for a highly qualified PT who understands what it takes to return to a level of performance necessary for an active and joyful lifestyle.”
Ella D., back in the mountains after ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair.
“I suffered three ACL tears in a very short period and worked with several physical therapists, but it wasn’t until I started working with Jen that it all clicked and I was able to truly start healing. During our first meeting, I was unsure if I would ever return to the mountain. After a few months of consistent work and support, I am now hiking big mountains, mountain biking, and swimming weekly. I truly do not know where I would be without Made Strong Physical Therapy.”
“Jen is the best PT I’ve ever worked with. I came to her post ACL surgery and she helped me build strength and feel confident skiing again. She’s incredible to work with and really understands the need to get back to the sport you love.”
Frequently asked questions
Do I need surgery to work with you?
No. Jen works with both surgical and non-operative ACL injuries. If you’re undecided about surgery, she can help you work through that decision and prepare your knee either way. If you’ve already had surgery, she’ll build your program around your surgeon’s protocol while pushing further than most standard PT does.
When should I start?
Pre-operatively is ideal if you can. Getting your quad strength and range of motion optimized before surgery significantly improves post-op outcomes. But any point in the process works: early post-op, mid-rehab, or even years out from an injury you never fully recovered from.
How long does ACL rehab take?
The honest answer is 9 to 12 months for a full return to cutting and pivoting sports, though many people feel significantly better much earlier. Return to sport timelines are based on passing objective strength and functional tests, not just hitting a calendar date. Jen will track your progress and tell you where you actually are.
How often will I need to come in?
Early post-op, typically once or twice a week. As you progress and your programming takes over more of the work, sessions become less frequent. The goal is that you need Jen less over time because the program is working, not more.
Do you work with younger athletes?
Yes. Jen has worked with high school and collegiate athletes alongside adult weekend warriors. The programming adjusts to age, sport, and level of competition. Return-to-sport criteria are applied consistently regardless of age.
Is this covered by insurance?
Made Strong is cash-based, which means you pay directly without going through insurance. Many clients submit receipts to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement, and superbills are available on request. The tradeoff is full sessions, full attention, and a program built around your goals rather than what insurance approves.
